LOVES PARK, Ill. — July 14, 2026 — MPI-K9 LLC, a veteran-owned small business specializing in canine procurement, armed security, and executive protection, today announced it has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to supply untrained single-purpose detection canines in support of the agency’s canine training mission.

Under the award, MPI-K9 will deliver seven untrained detection canines to CBP’s U.S. Border Patrol Canine Academy in El Paso, Texas. The award was issued as a 100 percent small business set-aside, with delivery scheduled to be completed by August 31, 2026.

“This award reflects the standard our team holds for every canine we place,” said Kipton Bucey, Chief Operating Officer of MPI-K9. “Sourcing dogs with the drive and stability to succeed in a federal detection program is demanding work, and we’re proud to support the Border Patrol Canine Academy’s mission.”

The contract adds to MPI-K9’s growing federal canine procurement practice and reinforces the company’s role as a supplier of working-dog candidates to government and commercial clients nationwide.
